De origem humilde, as dificuldades foram presentes em sua juventude, sobre esse tempo Jord\u00e3o recordava:<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cNossa casa era um ninho na tempestade. Tam\u00e3e, paciente, nada pedia. Eu nada podia prometer.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-fb7b2fae\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-fb7b2fae\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">Sem grandes propriedades, sua inf\u00e2ncia de p\u00e9 no ch\u00e3o foi marcada pelas brincadeiras de menino, corria, tomava banhos de chuva, roubava cajus nos quintais e s\u00edtios da vizinhan\u00e7a , ia \u00e0 feira, \u00e0 missa do galo, e com alegria participava das festas populares. Quando adulto, Jord\u00e3o admitia a influ\u00eancia que as tradi\u00e7\u00f5es da cultura popular sergipana tiveram sobre ele e lhe ressoavam a alma. <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">\"Todas as evas\u00f5es populares em mim repercutiam como um processo de humaniza\u00e7\u00e3o do cotidiano\" . (OLIVEIRA, JORD\u00c3O, 1975, p.11)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-5899cf46\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-5899cf46\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Q<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">uanto a sua educa\u00e7\u00e3o, Tam\u00e3e sempre lhe deixou solto, a vida lhe ensinava por meio das experi\u00eancias. O menino ganhava o mundo, experimentava a inf\u00e2ncia e a liberdade.&nbsp; Mas isso n\u00e3o era suficiente, Jord\u00e3o queria mais do que a cidade de Aracaju podia lhe oferecer, declarou:&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">\"O que desejava era sair da minha terra; viajar, conhecer outras cidades maiores, onde pudesse viver e ver, de perto, as vivas representa\u00e7\u00f5es dos meus est\u00edmulos.\" (OLIVEIRA, JORD\u00c3O, 1975, p. 9)<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-282017f1\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-282017f1\"><p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Foi assim que aos 15 anos mudou-se para Recife onde trabalhou numa antiga casa de ferragens, chamada Aimor\u00e9. Nessa \u00e9poca, j\u00e1 fazia desenhos com <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">crayon, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">influenciado e incentivado pelo seu professor de desenho geom\u00e9trico no Ateneu Sergipense, Quintino Marques. Esse talento que se mostrava em Jord\u00e3o chamava aten\u00e7\u00e3o e lhe rendeu uma carta de recomenda\u00e7\u00e3o para trabalhar na famosa empresa ferrovi\u00e1ria Tramway. Mas sua impaci\u00eancia da inf\u00e2ncia nunca lhe deixou, por esta raz\u00e3o n\u00e3o se demorou muito em Recife e em 1921 seguiu para o Rio de Janeiro, onde tamb\u00e9m n\u00e3o se fixou, pois fugido da gripe espanhola regressou \u00e0 terra natal. <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-b19ba22f\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-b19ba22f\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">De volta a Sergipe, Jord\u00e3o correu para trabalhar e conseguiu cargo na revista da \u201cFolha do Povo\u201d e contribuiu com retratos e caricaturas para o jornal \u201cS\u00e9culo XX\u201d. Frequentou a casa de Jo\u00e3o Pequeno, \u2018desenhista rec\u00e9m-chegado da cidade de Est\u00e2ncia, h\u00e1bil retratista a crai\u00e3o e pastel\u2019 (OLIVEIRA, JORD\u00c3O, 1975, p. 61) e tamb\u00e9m, a casa do poeta Ant\u00f4nio Garcia Rosa, por quem nutria carinho e admira\u00e7\u00e3o,&nbsp; junto de grandes intelectuais sergipanos. Foi na casa de Garcia, localizada na colina do Santo Ant\u00f4nio, que Jord\u00e3o teve acesso \u00e0 obras de in\u00fameros poetas e escritores, como tamb\u00e9m conheceu o artista J. In\u00e1cio, que lhe deu orienta\u00e7\u00f5es e ajuda com materiais de arte. Esses encontros e rodas de conversas influenciaram positivamente o artista e essa experi\u00eancia nunca foi esquecida. Sobre Garcia, Jord\u00e3o escreveu: \u201cEle era o homem indicado, o mais compreensivo que eu sentia encarnar todas as fun\u00e7\u00f5es de pai, de amigo, de mestre, de protetor.\u201d (OLIVEIRA, JORD\u00c3O, 1960, edi\u00e7\u00e3o 00059; p.&nbsp; 10)<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-7a16620f\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-7a16620f\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">Sua vida estava calma, mas a rotina o sufocava, n\u00e3o era o que queria, n\u00e3o lhe bastava, queria aprimorar seu trabalho art\u00edstico, e decidiu: foi at\u00e9 o governador, Dr. Pereira Lobo, pedir uma bolsa para estudar na Escola Nacional de Belas-Artes. Iniciou na pintura. Evoluia. Inspirado pelo neocl\u00e1ssico, o impressionismo, fauvismo, a pintura ganhou seu cora\u00e7\u00e3o, e desde ent\u00e3o n\u00e3o se separou dos pinc\u00e9is e tintas. As cores, as formas, as luzes n\u00e3o fugiam aos olhos do artista. Jord\u00e3o de Oliveira estudou, pesquisou e produziu in\u00fameras obras, entre elas destacam-se suas belas paisagens e retratos e durante sua trajet\u00f3ria art\u00edstica foi premiado.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-5f58f928\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-5f58f928\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Em 1930 Jord\u00e3o tornou-se docente na ENBA. Sua atua\u00e7\u00e3o na institui\u00e7\u00e3o como professor de Desenho de Modelo-Vivo e de pintura foi de grande import\u00e2ncia. Sua personalidade bondosa e mansa cativava os alunos e assim se consagrou como um dos mais queridos professores da Escola, at\u00e9 que, em 1937, assumiu a presid\u00eancia da Sociedade de Belas Artes.&nbsp; Sobre sua atua\u00e7\u00e3o, uma de suas alunas, Isis Fernandes Braga (2016), da turma de 1954, conta:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cO Professor de Croquis, Professor Jord\u00e3o de Oliveira, posteriormente foi da banca de meu concurso para Professora de Cria\u00e7\u00e3o da Forma, em 1985. Ele nos fazia desenhar o Modelo Vivo em apenas alguns minutos; n\u00f3s pod\u00edamos escolher a t\u00e9cnica, seja l\u00e1pis, crayon ou aguada! E a cada dez minutos o modelo mudava de posi\u00e7\u00e3o.
